Joe Booth set the course record for pushrim wheelchairs, 3:21:43, at the Road Runner Akron Marathon on September 26th in Akron Ohio. 

After the race Joe was exhausted and climbed out of his racing chair and laid in the grass for nearly 45 minutes. 

It was sad that Joe was the only pushrim wheeler in the race this year. It is also sad that there are many people who would benefit so greatly from becoming involved with racing wheelchairs. The cost is one of the main factors keeping people out of the sport and in their homes. In fact, Joe, may not race his entire schedule in the coming months due to lack of funds.
